Some bloggers prefer to stay with static home page while other go for non static one.
Static Home Page:
No matter how many times you make changes you home page will remain static.
Non Static Home Page:
Your website home page will change every time you update your website.
If you have a blogger site the making some changes for a static home page is not a big problem, in fact it is very easy. So if you want to make your home page static, you have to follow these steps:
Create A New Page:
First of all go to your blogger and create a new page which you wish to make as static home page. In order to create one go to main menu of your dashboard and you will see an option of "pages" right below the "campaigns" option on left side of your screen. Now click on the new page option right in front of you and edit it by giving it a name and also add body text to it.
Let say you want to make an "about" page, give it a title "about" and then in the body text place information about yourself and your expertise or the services you are providing depending upon what kind of a blog you run, after completing enter "publish".
Then you will be taken back to "pages" once again where you will see your published page. You have to copy the url of that page by right clicking on "view" option and select "copy link address"
Redirect That Page To Static One
After publishing you need to change blogger default home page and that follows by redirecting your default home page to static home page you just created minutes ago. When any body enters your site he/she will be going to see that page every time regardless of the fact that how many times you make changes to your blog.
In order to do this go to "settings" and then click on the "search preferences" after that click on the "custom redirects" under "errors and redirections" and then click on edit.
In the from box you have to put forward slash"/" and in to box you have to place the url address you copied earlier of your about page and only put the later part of that address. Like if the address is like this "http://biginut.blogspot.com/p/about.html" you need to erase the first part and only put that part that starts after com, like this "/p/about.html"
Now check mark all boxes and click on "save" and "save changes". Now view your blog and see that your default home page has been changed by new static home page.
Creating Tabs For Website
Creating tabs for your website is also very crucial as it give website more professional look and makes it friendly for user to navigate. In order to create tabs that show home page, main blog posts page, along with contact us page, you have to complete these steps.
For creating tabs, go to your blog's layout and click on "Add A Gadget" under the blog header. Making tabs under the header make it more catchy rather than on the right side of your blog and it is also recommended that one should do it under the header.
After clicking on add a gadget, a new window will pop up, now select "Pages" by clicking on "+ sign". In this configure page list window under "Pages To Show" you will see your blog's default home page and that new static page you just created. Now you have to unmarked default home page box and select those which you wish to display on your tabs and hit save.
